AIT BEN HADDOU & OUARZAZATE | FROM MARRAKECH

This long daily tour, takes us through the High Atlas, along an impressive mountain road that winds along the picturesque valleys and crosses numerous small Berber villages; on the way we will meet sellers of semi-precious stones, until we reach the Tizi n’ Tichka pass, the highest point of this part of the High Atlas (2,260 mt).

Further south, beyond these snow-covered mountains from November to April, the landscape changes, showing us all the beauty of the pre-desert region, cheered by the presence of a river near Ouarzazate, an agglomeration of Kasbah and small houses of clay and straw that contrast with the emerald green fields that surround them.

The visit to Ouarzazate, a modern military city built by the French in the early 1900s on the Sahara border, includes the former residence of Pacha El Glaui, the Taourirt kasbah and Ait Ben Haddou’s Ksar, an ancient hillside village, which is very characteristic and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, well known in the cinema world.

The excursion starts at 8:00 a. m., starting from the Marrakech Hotel where you will be staying; in the evening back to Marrakech and drop-off to your hotel.
